Update on 20SM Listenership Statistics
by Jared on February 27th, 2007
Every once in a while, I like to keep you guys abreast of how many people are listening to 20SM and if we are, indeed, making an impact in the blogosphere. I am glad to say that I did some analysis of our stats today and here is what I found out:
- We are up 7-10% per episode with 500 adjusted listeners per episode (how many people listen to the show within one month of its posting).
- In the longer term, each episode gets its total listnership doubled after that first month as people are routinely going back and listening to older content.
We are also benefiting from another estimated 1000+ listeners per show thanks to OutRadio2, an internet radio station in Australia that has just begun re-broadcasting our shows on a regular schedule.
Thanks to everyone who is making this show a success and look out for more great content coming your way soon!
PS: We are also back on top of the Yahoo! Top 10 Business Podcast rankings so feel free to go leave a review if you haven’t already done so!
Bonus Vidcast: Behind The Scenes of 20SM @ Katsucon ‘07
by Jared on February 20th, 2007
As I mentioned in Episode #59, I took some video of our trip to Katsucon ’07. Its a fun (and disturbing) look behind the scenes at what it sometimes takes for us to get content for a single show. Like I said, I promised you a Bonus Vidcast where we make morons out of ourselves, and damn it, - that’s what we deliver! Enjoy!
Just call me lazy
by Jared on February 19th, 2007
I’ve begun to think that there is very little reading the paper a good cup of coffee and a bit of jazz can’t fix.
Like most, I have the day off and am stuck trying to decide what I want to do. I could a) catch up on some work I have been putting off with my extra-curricular projects b) call a friend or two to get together or c) got back to my coffee and paper.
Amazingly, I doubt if I’ll settle on anything besides “c†but it’s nice to know I have options.
Happy President’s Day Everyone…Have a great day off!

…and all we got was 2 bloody hours off?
by Jared on February 14th, 2007

Call me a whiney, temperamental southerner but this just isn’t fair. D.C. gets hit with a nor’easter, an ice storm and all we got was a two-hour delay! TWO HOURS!!!
If I had a list of things I wanted to do before I left D.C. in August, at least one of them would be spend an entire day, snowed in and frankly, being paid for it (w/o burning an annual leave day). I know this sounds unfair and a bit silly but I am sitting in my office right now (yes boss, I am blogging during office hours - there are exactly 2 other people in my side of the 80 person office that showed up; deal with it) realizing that there might be one or two projects at max I can work on.
There is no point in today…I mean; at all.
And don’t even mention V-Day to me…if you are home with your (in)significant other today, turn to them and if they haven’t bought you jewelry; slap them.
…this message has been brought to you by a bitchy, single-marketer at work. Thank You, we now return you to your regularly scheduled cyber-blather.
20SM Promotes Amanda to Associate Executive Producer
by Jared on February 9th, 2007

20-Something Marketing, the internet’s premier audio resource for marketing business and life for and by 20-something professionals is pleased to announce the promotion of Amanda to the position of Associate Executive Producer.
In her new position, Amanda will assume responsibility for not much more than she was doing previously in her position as Vice President of Randomness, which included serving as co-host/comic relief/camerawoman for 20SM’s bonus vidcasts. Her new role, will however, will include an increased presence as a regular co-host of the podcast as well as representing the show on special assignments that will include - but are not limited to - covering anime culture, ridiculous pop trends and keeping the primary host sane.
“It was an easy choice,†said Jared, 20-Something Marketing’s chief contributor and host. “After about a bottle of wine each, I am pretty sure I would have done a lot worse. The way I see it, this was a way to limit the damage.â€
